Can you force an "online pending" resource to go "offline"

Hi.

Not sure if this is possible but I have a resource that is in "online pending" state and I'm trying to switch it to "Offline". Can it be done through cluster.exe

It should fail given time and goin to an offline state anyway.

You may be able to fail it rather than offline it by using

cluster RESOURCE resource-name /FAIL

There is a similar
cluster RESOURCE resource-name /OFF

command which would take it offline but i think it will want in fully online first.
