Hi, I just purchase Photoshop CS2.. I took a couple of picrtures with my digital camera and unfortunately they came out blurry.. Is there any quick fix with CS2 that can help to correct this problem for me?

Thanks,

Tim

Applying an Unsharp Mask (Filter / Sharpen / Unsharp Mask) may give you the appearance of a bit more sharpness, but if the blur is really bad then I don't know that there is much you can do.

A slightly blurry picture can certainly be sharpened.

Here’s a better way to sharpen color pictures that takes advantage of “Lab Color” mode by sharpening the light and dark portions not the color portions of your picture.

Why, because you can apply more sharpening and not have chromatic aberration a.k.a. "color fringing".

Open an image (in this case RGB mode)
Image > Mode > Lab Color
In the Channels pallet Click the "Lightness" layer.
(This shows only grayscale withour any color components.)

Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp mask
(you may need to adjust to please your eyes but try keeping the amount between 50 and 150% the radius between 1.5 and 4 pixels and start with the threshold at 1)
click the preview box on and off to see the effect.
Click OK when done.

In the Channels pallet click "Lab Color" layer to restore color portion

Image > Mode > RGB (put pack to original mode)

much luck

CS2 has a new filter that deals with blurry pictures. I have had some success with it.

where can i find that filer at?... The most luck i have had so far was from the advice mscallisto gave me.. Thanks for that!!

I'm on vacation right now. I will post the location when I get home. It is there.

I have now reinstalled CS2 at home. The filter I mentioned is in the sharpening menu. It is called 'Smart Sharpen'.
