Can you drag and drop type in INDesign? Like you can in Quark and Word? HOW?

hi,

well If I understand it, you want a text to be inserted in a certain document without using the 'place' command.

Open your document. get your word document and drag it on your document.

InDesign will create a new text frame and inserts in this particular frame your text

hope this helps

Well if you copy something from Word and paste it in InDesign, it keeps all of its format. I don't know if that works with Quark. Another way is if you have a format that you like in your document and you want to use it on another text, highlight the text and click the eyedropper tool and click on the text that you want the format from.
