can you do an offline defrag to a mapped drive

I know that was fine in Exchange 5.5 provided you mapped the drive and didn't use UNC.
Personally I'd copy the whole thing somewhere that I have space and do it. Then move it back or even better reconfigure your drives (i.e. repatition them) to allow more growth in future then move it back.
Make sure you have a backup of the file and try it!
Just make sure you have a backup or 4!
