I'm trying to look for a phone number, and I know for a cold, hard fact that this number is somewhere in one of my Contacts in Outlook. Yet when I click the Search button, then type in just the 4 numbers (to positively avoid any confusion with formatting, dashes, parens, etc), the search returns no results.

I tried this on numbers that I could see right in front of me in the contacts list!! Yet these test number strings are not found. What is up with that? Is there any possible way to *truly* search Contacts??
Thanks,
--Jim

Select "advanced search" under Options

Enter your number string in the "Search for word(s): field

Use drop down in the "In" field and select "Phone number fields only.

this should get you what you seek

Hope this helps
