We have a bunch of computers that are for student use that are loaded with norton 7.6 corp, but they also have deepfreeze on them. Deepfreeze is a program that basically locks a computer the way it is, so even if the computer gets horribly screwed up, just reboot and its back to the way it was when deepfreeze was installed. Deepfreeze makes it unecessary to update norton, so is there a way to turn off that notification that your definitions are out of date? It just confuses that students, and wont stop popping up after a month. Any ideas? Thanks.

You didn't specify whether they are managed or unmanaged machines. If they are managed there's an option in the Symantec System Center that warns the client have the virus definitions are a certain age.
