Can you choose an image for a background and not have it repeat?

I want to use an image I made in Photoshop as my background for my webpage. However, I do not want the image to tile in the browser. Does anyone know of any code that will set the background image to a certain size and not repeat it in a browser of a differet resolution?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
