can you dynamicly change the size of a textfield to hold the the size of the content, no matter how much content you stuff into to it?

I've seen it dodone nw with javascript? jef

No - at least not that I know of (and I have tried, believe me!). _____________________________________________________

I've never understood such questions.
I guess it relates to dynamically changing the size of non-scrollable textfields, as opposed to using scrollable ones, right? Regards,

Looks that way, Old ... but resizing horizontally would be beneficial, too. For example, if you were developing tool-tips which had a dynamic textfield into which the appropriate label is loded ... with textfields the way they are now, all the tool-tips would have to be a uniform size from left to right, which is pretty poor. There's no point having a tool-tip which only says "close" but has a background 150 px wide! ... _____________________________________________________

yep! you got the point,

right now, I'd like to place the values of others fields into a hidden field and print it, reguardless of how much stuff is in it.

However ... after having visited the site you recommended, you can have your star. This is a fantastic resource I hadn't even heard about before, so full marks for pointing it out (and a star). _____________________________________________________

maybe this will be the point that get me an upgrade (smile) jef

Looks that way Jef ... it seemed like an obvious addition for MX, and I can tell you (after having played about with it!) it really does the job! _____________________________________________________
