I have Windows 2k professional runing on my workstations. I have one particular user that is on IM all day. Is there any way to block AIM on that one machine?
Having said that, the most popular IM applications are ‘port-agile’, should their native port be closed, are capable of locating other open ports and tunneling their traffic over a different port instead. Unless organizations are prepared to shut off all user access to the Internet, it is very difficult to prevent IM usage.

Sometimes you're the windshield... Sometimes you're the bug.
It is possible to restrict access to a particular program on the machine it's self. Using group policy on the local machine. You could also remove rights to the executable from that user, alson on the local machine.
