Does anyone know of a way to prevent someone from importing or linking a table from DB1 to DB2 without putting a password on DB1?

Just wondering...

You can set a DB password on DB1 or setup security on DB1... Don't know if that works in your scenario or not. Joe Miller

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Access security will only work on the specific PC it is set up on right?

For example, if I have security on PC#1 and the database resides on a LAN, then on PC#2 the database can be opened with no restrictions.

That can happen yes, but only if the security is setup improperly. You need to make a security file and then tell the mdb that people can only access the mdb when they are using the specific security file. Many people forget this step and hence leave their db's wide open.

Wow. Didn't know that (which explains why I never messed with the security features much :) )

I'll have to look into this some more (any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated).

Thanks a bunch for your time...

F1 is the best place to start, it's on your keyboard! ;-) Joe Miller
