Can you automatically delete emails with viruses?

I have Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 8.0 and use Microsoft Exchange for our email server. We are being overwhelmed by virus notifications along with the original email. I have tried changing the settings on workstations and the server to delete the infected file but the emails still keep coming in along with the NAV notifications. Is there any way to have these deleted and never reach the inbox?

You need to purchase Symantec Mail Security for your Exchange server. You can configure that to automatically delete infected emails.

Why is it that resolution for every small problem has to be several hundred dollars worth of more software which will probably cause more conflicts?

Because you have to have the right tool for the job.

You wouldn't use a shovel to rake grass would you? Then why would you expect software package A to handle a job that software package B is designed to handle? Do you use Word as a spreadsheet?

Get the right tool for the job, learn how to use it, and get on with life.

Symantec Mail Security for Exchange was the best piece of preventative medicine I've invested in (Other than our Watchguard). It filled the gap that was keeping us from full triple tier-protection.

If you have a well configured system, SAE will likely not cause any additional conflicts and probably offer you more solutions as an administrator.

But that is just my humble opinion.
