Can Wireless Routers transmit VOIP on home networks

Hello,

I am getting ready to build a wireless network and I use a cable modem with VOIP functions that comunicate with my wired network. If I place a wireless router such as a D LINK Airplus Xtreme, will that knock out the VOIP functions on the networked computers?

If the cable modem has the VoIP features built in, then nothing you add to the network should effect the VoIP.
