Can we upgrade a BCM 1000 Rel. 2.5?

Hi All,

We just tried to install a "double density" DSM16+ in a BCM 1000 and found that the system is running only Rel. 2.5, Build 7.1.8 software. (We thought it was on Rel. 3.6 - a result of a mis-filed system inventory.)

This rel. apparently does not support double density.

Is there a software upgrade available for the BCM 1000?

Thanks for any help.

If you can find a 2.5 to 3.01 auth code you can upgrade it to 3.01. Those are getting hard to find. The 'official' upgrade path now is to replace the hard drive with a newer release.

You could also configure the double density card with single density settings. The 16+ will take up one bus instead of 1/2 bus, but it would work.
