Hi all

I'm in a situation when my root account can't access oracle or rman properly. Eventhough i tried adding it to dba group and copy oracle's profile. But the rman or oracle user is working just fine.

When I do a server initiated schedule backup, it will by default use the root account to run the rman script. As I just said, this will result in error either insufficult right or can not evaluate environment variables.

Is there anyway to?
- switch to a non root account such as rman to do the backup? or
- make necessary change so root can do the same thing as oracle?

Thank you and with best regards

Hi:
Yous must:

a) create a user who can run RMAN script's.
b) on console of Networker, edit client and on remote tab, set the username and password for the user that can run RMAN script's.

Bye.
