Dear all,

I would like to know whether it's possible to add a new VGDA on an existing PV (physical volume) of a VG (volume group)? For example, if my current rootvg consists of hdisk0 (in which it has 2 VGDAs now), can I add 1 more VGDA to the hdisk0, without adding a new PV?

Thanks in advanced!

No.
And what would be the reason for doing this? VGDA quorom?

Cheers

Hello again,

What happen if the VGDA in the PV is corrupted? If I can't recreate it, does this mean I have to do sumthing like backup, destroy, and recreate Pv to the VG and restore the entire VG (or LVs) into the PV?

Thanks again for yr kind reply.

If your VGDA gets corrupted, you have big problems. What's to keep the 3rd copy getting corrputed?

I have yet to see a VGDA get corrupted "on its own". You could manually corrupt the VGDA with 'dd' in about 2 seconds though.
