I can connect to a VPN server when I try connecting on a pc using dial-up modem but I can't when I try it on a workstation w/in our LAN or even with the server. Server and workstations are configured using private IP. Host can't even see our pc even when using pcanywhere. Is there a prob. with the configuration? how can I fix it? tnx

Without further details, it is difficult to say. Are you using IPSec or PPTP? Also, certain IPSec clients have problems with the Infrared network adapters when connecting via the Ethernet interface on Windows machines.

You might try disabling IR (and the IR adapter).
