hi -
i've got a cisco 1720 router with a t-1 and a pix 515 that all works great. Now, i need to add my second t-1 to the same router - need to know if i can add a sub-interface to the internal eth port on the pix (and possibly the external) so it can route two different subnets to two different t1's (i'd like to keep them separate).

any ideas? or can you even add sub-interfaces to the pix without adding a card or something?

Sub-interfaces are not supported as far as I know.

If your PIX 515 is a UR model, you can do VLANs on the Internal interface with OS ver. 6.3.1 (I'm not sure if you can do VLANs on an R model). I don't know if that will help you or not, but thought I would offer it.

HI.

The pix can use only 1 single default gateway, so it can use only 1 internet connection.

You should manage the multiple connections at the router, which can be transparent for the pix.

If you wish to separate - i.e. mail server will use one T1 line, and users will use the other, you can achieve this using policy routing at the router.

Bye
