This is a refined version of a previous post. The problem is to set up the Websphere PCOMM component so that two LUs on the same Windows platform can engage in a CPIC or APPC conversation. If some one knows that the PCOMM Attach Manager cannot accept a request that originates on the same platform please let me know. Otherwise, if someone has done this sucessfully, could you let me know the procedure.

The short answer is yes, 2 LUs on the same Websphere (Personl Communications) node can support two TPNs conversing over CPIC. In trying the concept I've documented a long list of restrictions, which limits the usability of this to test environments. Still, if your test time with your "real" LU 6.2 partner is limited (as almost always happens), you can do a lot of useful testing in this environment. You can even build a simulator of a mainframe LU 6.2 partner and do 80% of your development on the desktop.
