Hello,

I have created a windows application that will be used in a factory enviroment. For security reasons we dont want to display any options to exit or carry out any administration tasks. Is it possible that the application could be controlled from a command prompt from a remote machine? If so how? I'm toying with the idea of maybe using telnet.

Any ideas or suggestions would be grreat.

forget about the idea of controling it from a command prompt, think more about writing a client program that can communicate with the main prog. i would pass information using tcp/ip on a free port. if i am to assume that you intend to have one main program running (out of the hands of factory workers) with several cients, you may want to thin about using a database management system (btrieve, or somthing like that).

Yes the idea of client app sounds like a good idea, simple and effective, I think I will use that idea!
Thanks for your help!
