I'm using a 19inch monitor at 1280x1024. In PS 6 When zoom to print size the image appears smaller on the monitor than it should. I enabled the rulers and checked the size of one inch against a real world ruler, the PS 6 inch was about 1/3 smaller.

Is there a way to callibrate the ruler?

Thanks,
Alan

Hi,

That's because of your resolution. 1280*1024 is huge. Everything will apear to be really small. You can't calibrate your rulers to match real world rulers. Just go by the size that you want in PS, it is correct. Just make sure the rulers are on the appropriate units.

Simply double click on the rulers and a dialog box will appear, then you can change your units to CM, MM, INCHES, PIXELS, PICAS...etc.

Hope this helps! NATE

Thanks SPYRODIX,

I understand what you are saying. I'm hoping there is a utility for Photoshop that will allow ruler callibration. I know in Corel PhotoPaint the rulers can be callibrated, I'm surprised that the industry leader (Photoshop) doesn't have this feature.

Alan

So you are saying you want the PS rulers to match your real time ruler when you it up against the screen. I have never heard of that being done before. And am sure PS doesn't do that, but I could be wrong.
