I was just going to move over my 2 4gig sticks, as I know these boards love the "dual channel" thing. This is a new board I bought to go with the 8 core cpu, so I figured I might as well up to 16 gig mem and forget about it for another 5 yrs. The manual says it needs 4 x 2gig sticks but I find it hard to believe this board can't see 2 x8gig. Any suggestions or experience with this board?

Thanks!!

Thanks for the link, but that only states the board can take a maximum of 16 gig and it has 4x slots. My issue is the manual that came with the board says you may install 1,2 or 4 gig sticks. I was hoping maybe the manual was out of date and it could take an 8 gig stick. I guess to be safe I'll get 4x4gig. That's still going to run dual channel mode. And, reviewing the QVL on the ASUS site, it still says for 16 gig you should use 4x4 gig. Better safe than sorry.
