can,t start the alert manager (alert.exe) ARCserve 2000 SP4

I would like to configure my alert manager, but I can't start the alert service. I can click the green -> , but the service does not start.

what could be the problem??

in the event viewer I find this error:

"The Cheyenne Alert Notification Server service failed to start due to the following error:
Access is denied.
"

go to the specific service, and set it to start with a specific account...
use the ARcserve system account...
if it is already set that way...

check if the ARcserve system account has domain admin previleges and all the other security prerequisites as per the release notes for ARcserve2000..
