I have inherited a customer with SX20 - they would like to send an occasional call off-site thru one of two methods:
1. Transfer off site via trunk to trunk transfer (maybe via speed dial).
2. Perform a centrex-type transfer - hopefully from switchboard.

Does SX20 support either of these?

Thanks!
Mike

For Centrex Type transfer you would require centrex type trunks (unlikely)

For Trunk to trunk conference no problem except maybe the fact that 2 trunks are tied up for the duration of the call. Unless you have enough trunks to be able to lose 2 or 4 at a time I wouldn't recommend this either. Also, depending on the CO and the trunk type, you may have issues with disconnect after the call is completed possibly locking up your trunks indefinitely

Actually, customer would be OK with centrex if PBX can generate a hookflash on the trunk from console and/or analog station. They only have four or five trunks so the trunk to trunk could be a real problem.

You misunderstood.

The TRUNK must be centrex, is it? I doubt it.

While the trunk is not currently Centrex (currently loop-start POTS), the customer would be happy to change in order to make this function work well. However, there's no sense in making it Centrex if they cannot generate a hookflash from the console...
