can striped devices be read by another raid controller?

My computers motherboard (Epox 8k7a+) has a on board raid card which i used to stripe 2 40gig hard drives. the computer is having trouble booting and im suspecting its the motherboard and i was wondering if i would be able to recover the data off of these disks with another brand of raid controller if i put them into a different computer?

Well,this is in the wrong forum, this is IBM disk and Raid solutions, not Epox. that said. you could in theory move the drives to another system, and raid card as long as they are using the same raid chip, i.e. promise fastrack. with the same chip number. In practice...good luck.
