We have recently moved into a facility with another company. They currently have a Nortel Meridian and StarFlash system. Rather than do things in parallel, we decided to move all our phone lines onto their system. Company A has 3 lines and we have two. The Starflash answers only their 3 lines by initial design. Answering all 5 lines would generate the wrong message for our two added lines. I have a few questions.
Can one StarFlash answer differently for two companies? So far I have not figured out how. My telco installer said no and it couldn't be done. He didn't try and that was that. Currently we have the 3 lines for Company A in a seperate pool from the our 2 lines.
Second question - if the above answer is no, can my phone extention ring back to Starflash if I do not answer? I can get into the ADMIN and have setup the mailbox(es) but I am not sure whether the Nortel system can redirect the non answer to the Starflash - kind of a backdoor answering machine.
