A really stupid question...but I'm seriously interested. not for the server elements, but just to assemle a DB and organize the tables, queries, and data structure for uploading to an established server that support SQL Server.

Thanks!

Yes- You are only able to install the desktop version on Win9x, NT Workstation, 2K Pro

so i can setup a DB table and structure my data...just not act as the app server?

am i on the right track?

Absolutely. Pretty much you can't schedule anything to run as a Service. If you just want to create a DB, Tables, Indexes, Triggers, Stored Procedures you can.
