I would like to design a page that is a sign-on to a database within a Website created in Frontpage. This way people can sign-on to the Secure Part of the Website and be able to log on with a password. I know this is amateurish to all of you but I'm ignorant. I appreciate any help someone can give me.

Thanks

To Let know I am looking at creating the Database using Access.

Details on my question:

I am trying to design a Section of my
Web site ITIPower.com for Training Purposes. Behind a Firewall.

My plan is this:

The web site is designed with Front Page. The Flash Presentations in
Flash 5.0.

I will be charging for membership in our rep training program. New
members will sign up via a form that collects their credit card info
<One Problem>

When they return, they will be doing so from a link from an email to a
specific Training Module Behind a sign-on screen for that module. They
will have to sign on for each individual module <Problem 2>.

Also there needs to be a general sign-on for the Training Area and the
Members only tools like the forum etc. <Problem 3>.

Currently we don't have the funding to pay someone to help me do this
for my team. Eventually we will and I will likely keep someone on
retainer to help in these kinds of mini projects. Right now I have to
do it myself.

Can you advise me or direct me somewhere I can learn more about asp
scripting or get advise on how to do these things?

here are some ASP links for you

more generally

The way your questions are structured, once you figure out how to do your sign-on, the rest should fall into place.

Q1) I'm sure you'll find it on one of the websites that I specified above... if not post back and I'll hack something up for you.

Q2) Store the username and generate a temporary password in a table. In the email, pass back the username (or UID) and temppassword... have a timestamp on the table, and 'expire' the activations past, say 20 minutes or so.

Q3) You should be able to figure it out after you get you get Q1.

hth - at least a little
