i have 2 computers which are connected to the internet, therefore they should have public ip addresses, is it possible for me to remotely view the contents of the other computer, to perform checks.
If this is possible, how do get the ip addresses for both computers, what software do i use and how do i set this up.
Thank you in advance.

If you browse this forum you will notice alot about pcanywhere and ras. I have never setup ras and I can setup pcany in no time and have it working. I assume your on dsl or cable modem and your service provider can supply you with the ip address and make sure that your modem maintains the same ip all the time.

how can i make sure that the ip remains the same

Call your ISP and request a Static IP address for each.

To veiw your files using RRAS you will need Windows 2000 or PCAnywhere.

You will probably want to use PCAnywhere

where can i get PC Anywhere from and how do i use it

You can get it from Staples or most any software reseller. To use it, follow the included instructions.
