Thanks again. I am trying to avoid a re-format, but if it comes to a format I will do it this weekend.

Just my two cents.. Kill all the damn AOL processes (YUCK!) as well as the rest of them, except for the SYSTEM processes, it won't let you..

It's a "Rule-it-Out" game.. figure out which processes are so resource intensive, and your good..

After killing everything, try your movie again, bet it runs a little (or a ton) better.. If it was my pc, there would be NOTHING running except virus scanner and my Pop-Up blocker.. that's it.

I have EVERYTHING disabled on startup, only the requirements, and it just floats into windows and my games and movies run like a dream..

snooter

PS: Boooooooooo on AOL! AOL + Symantec = Frustration!

Try optimizing the harddrive(s). Something like Diskkeeper (which you can download for evaluation). I was amazed how much faster my machine ran.

The fact that you've got that much crap running at once is the source of your woes. Follow the previously given advice and optimize, either via third-party app or simple trial and error. You can reformat to your heart's content, but you'll likely just bog yourself down again until you get a handle on your processes.

nah i found i had a trojan, i had a form of rapid blaster and ill try to optimize my drives. AOL is from my Aunt b/c she uses AOL and is computer illiterate. LOLz

You still have a lot of crap in your run folder. You don't need that crap in there. The programs will still start when you click on them to use them, you don't need them loaded at start up.

Ironic you've got Trojan Remover in your start up and you still got one. Blow it away.
