Is there a way to for a SMS Installer package to run as a different user, if the logged in users is not an admin?

My installs normally check if the logged in user has admin rights and if not abort. But now there is a need several install to be placed on shared W2k machines, of which none of the users are administrators.

In the Program Properties of the package, on the Environment tab, there's an option to allow the distribution to run with Administrative Rights. Have you checked this option?

What version of SMS Installer do you use? I'm using 2.0.91.09. I do not see an Environment tab ( Maybe, I just blind and overlooking it. )

BTW, I've ordered the SMS Installer book, that you wrote.

Sorry, not in SMS Installer but in the Package Properties in the SMS Administrator Console. You are distributing via SMS?

Unfortunately, the packages are not distributed by SMS. My packages are distributed either by clicking on install at our internal website, or occasionally by a check in the login script.

I figured that I was out of luck.
