We just started and are rolling out Avaya for a very large business here and it was humorous that shoretel made a presentation as well, against us. This was one of several videos that we used in our presentation (not on youtube of course)

Gsmitherman, I like the post where you stated that shoretel could expand from 1 to 10000! Hillarious, Avaya can go from one to 36000 times 250 plus sites. (a million plus) Just thought these videos would be of interest to the shoretel guys. keep up the small business installations, but whatever you guys do dont even try to go into the enterprise.

Why are Avaya programmers trolling on Shoretel forums? Do you notice Shoretel people do not go to Avaya forums and post. First we don't care about their inferior products. Secondly we are too busy installing systems. R3LzX let me know when your company closes much like Avaya will. I won't hire a moron like you for programming, but can always use somebody to mow the lawn.
There must be alot of fear with Avaya. Avaya won't allow their business partners to sell other products and trolls like R3LzX feel the need to make these stupid posts. Since Avaya has little to no Research and Development, good luck with your product.
ReLzX your ignorance in telecommunications is second to none. I am an Avaya Certified Specialist and a Shortel Certified Engineer. I can talk intelligently on both products. You can not talk intelligently period!

If Avaya is so great, why are you here R3LzX? Avaya has seen it's better days. I just started working for a company that sells Shoretel. The thing I love about Shoretel is it works! When I installed Avaya systems, we would be there all night. We have had issues that Avaya and their enigineers could not resolve. I have not seen a shoretel install that didn't go smooth. It is true, after the installs we don't see the customer unless they are buying more phones or swithes.

PS...GSmitherman, way to tell this jerk off!

you know you guys are right why did I even post here? I was just happy that I closed this enormous deal and saw shoretel comically present their product so I thought I would gloat a little. I wont talk any more trash about your cute little shoretel system.

Congrats on your sell. We in the ShoreTel world beat Avaya so much it is just another day at the office. I understand why you would be so happy to finally find someone so foolish to buy your junk. Now don't go away mad, just go away!

Retired a few years back following 37 years with AT&T/Lucent/Avaya as a large switch installation tech. I now work for a large community college. We just retired our two Avaya switches and installed ShoreTel. 800+ IP phones and over 1200 users. Couldn't be happier [smile]

I guess R3LzX was wrong, surely a ShoreTel could not work if you have 1200 users! GSmitherman here is your star. R3LzX here's your sign!!

It was 41000 its a fortune 500 company here in Texas. Look guys enough already shore tel is a good product, I used to install and sell it, it is just not cut out for really really really big installations. There was a lot of FUD with the pending lawsuit and the fact that they only have 200+ employees made it even worse for them as well. Billion Dollar plus companies buy from Billion Dollar Plus companies. I sincerely apologize for poking fun at Shoretel I am better than that, and like I said I have rolled out many of their systems, it is a good product and is simple to install.

Well yeah I am not sure why someone would come in with shoretel. They must not have known what they were getting into or they didn't know shoretel very well.

We just sold a 1300 phone installation across 20 sites. The client tried Cisco but didn't have very good luck with it so they are going to shoretel. We sell Avaya small business (IPO and Partner), shoretel and cisco. Since the client didn't want cisco again (we didn't do the first install) and IPO wouldn't work shoretel was presented. It should work nicely for them.

I am off the site for a couple of weeks and look what I miss.

Hey Guys I am also a Avaya Installer... and I have heard nothing but great things about the shortel system. The reason why I am poking around in here is because I have a customer who uses Avaya for all thier bigger sites. But the use shortel for thier smaller remote sites. But they are having some issues with the shortel system and I recomemded this forum to them.
But this is what I wanted to say "I think that most systems if not all, can work great.... But it all depends on who installs and programs the system that makes all the difference."
I take alot of pride in my installs but saddly I have had some customers who have had the wrong company or installer put the system which can be a bad thing...

What issues are they having? I have integrated ShoreTel with alot of Avaya systems.

we currently are running our Shoretel through our Avaya G3Si. We will be removing the Avaya this decmeber.

600+phones
800+extensions
so far across 3 US States, and Across the pond to Germany, and growing.

We're looking at doing a company-wide upgrade to VoIP. We're currently an Avaya shop and that's most likely who we'll go with, but we're seriously considering ShoreTel. They really do seem to have a great solution. We're looking at 30 sites or so and about 1200 phones.
