Hi I am new here ansd just as the topic says I have a mail servewr that ws working fine for several months. Then I took two days off and now the server can only send mails to the Internet. It cannot recieve any mails from the Internet. I gave it an alias IP and an MX record to see if that would help but to no avail. I made sure that under the Internet message format that there is a * under domain. I am really at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS There was a power outage one of the days I was out and the UPS ran out of power so the machine was shutdown improperly But I have since restarted it correctly. Also it is going to my BDC as the DC when I do a ping on my domain name.

Telnet to your Exchange server and do a manual test of sending an email to yourself. This will test what is at fault.

Check Technet for telnet exchange.
