Hi All,
Trying to install a new exchange server 2003, have set it all up and havd tested it with mail in outlook 2003. We can send mail ok but when we try to receive mail the incoming mail gets to the mailbox on the exchange server but will not get to the inbox of outlook on the client pc. It all seems to be working, all services are running, Not an exchange expert so am lost for ideas on where to look.
any ideas anyone?

Regards
Max

What service are you running (IMAP4, POP3, etc.)? And are you sure that Outlook isn't giving you any connection errors?

Hi,
we have pop3 smtp imap4
If outlook is giving us any errors its not showing anywhere

which one are you trying to use and have you tried them all? If the mail is being sent and when you send mail from a different server/email account you are not getting a bounce back, then the SMTP is working. Try both POP3 and IMAP4

Both the Pop3 and the SMTP are both on Should they both be on or only one or the other?

How is your DNS setup? Many times, this ends up being a DNS issue.

Hi,
Problem solved yes it was a DNS issue. The MX records were also pointing to the wrong server.
We rang our ISP they told us no all there records say that everything was faine at their end must be a problem at our end. couple of hours of hair tearing out latter, the ISP calls us back and tells us sorry they were wrong there records were pointing to the wrong server, sorry about that we'll fix it. 1 hour latter email started to appear.
