Can Send but not receive emails

Hi,

We have MS Exchange 5.5 SP 2 connected via an Intel 8100 Router connected to an ISDN line. Internal email is working fine we are able to send emails external emails but unable to receive them.

Please help

Definetely have to set up MX record. If you already have an MX record set up for another mail server you have to add your new record and change it to a higher priority than your previous record. Does you router use NAT, if so you need to forward all smtp (port 25) requests to your mail server via ip, if not make sure your router is configured properly. Hope this helps!
 
thanks for both of your replys. The problem seems to have been with the router.

although I am still unable to ping the router from any other
workstation or server apart from the exchange/proxy server
