I have a button to view a report and it is gone when the report window is closed. The user wants another button to save that report in a specified folder for later usage. Can someone give me a hint? Thank you.
To save a report in it's own electronic file the best solution I've found is to use "SnapShot Viewer". Depending on your version of Access you may or may not have this included with your system. Although it is part of Access if you don't have it, you may need to get it from the microsoft web site.
Once set up on your machine while the report window is still open:
1) Select File/Save As..
2) Click on to ans External file or database
3) Save as Type should be "Snapshot Format"
4) Select the directory to save to.
To view the report, you then have to "Open" your snapshot viewer. (Which is typically found under programs after the installation. (Or just double click on the file from explorer to open snapshot.)
You can also write a macro which you can export to a snapshot file automatically.
If you don't have snapshot viewer and are having difficulty finding it, send me an email at plnich@ix.netcom.com and I might be able to help.
