Can recurring tasks be updated with actuals?

I am a new user to Project, so bear with me. I need to create a way of tracking meetings with clients. I have over 300 clients. Would I set up each client as a Task? Each client has to meet at least once a year - so there is no project end date. I tried seting up a recurring task, but I could not update their actual meeting date if it was different from the one originally defined.

Project is for Projects (one-time, unique, definite finish date). It seems to me you're looking for a calendaring system.

I don't know why you're having a problem with updating the dates of a recurring task.

I created a recurring task, expanded it.

On the View | Gantt display I dragged individual tasks earlier and later in the schedule without problems.

On the View | Task Usage (after assigning resources) I was able to enter actual hours for an individual task where the work was done on a day when the task wasn't assigned and it adjusted everything correctly.
