Can receive new, but not forwarded attachments

A friend can send new emails with attachments to a variety of receivers OK, but cannot forward messages with attachments.

All receivers, including me, receive the message with a box where the picture should be, and no paper clip.

Her Sent Items box is the same.

So something is stripping the attachments from forwarded messages but not new ones??

She uses OE, AVG free, and windows firewall.

Any clues?
