Can receive faxes, but can't send

I have a BCM 50 with Unified Messaging and Fax Messaging turned on. I can receive faxes fine but can't send them, they go nowhere. Even using the quick fax way where you just click on print and select Nortel Fax and insert phone number. It will not even try to grap a line. I haven't ever set this up before so any suggestions will be appreciated.

yep that had me foxed for a while once not really in the docs anyware
