I would like to automate some information gathering from my clients and I have decided to use Acrobat forms. If my clients only have the Reader is it possible for them to fill out, save and return the form to me via email with their submitted information intact? Or do they need to have the full version of Acrobat?

Hello,
Sorry to say they can not edit a pdf using reader.
They would need the full version of the software Adobe Acrobat.
Good luck!

Your best bet is to use a CGI. You can have your clients fill out a web-based PDF form (or even an HTML form) on which you have a Submit button that sends the form field data to your program. You can use whatever language you want.

You need the full Acrobat to create the fields in the PDF bnut only the reader to fill them in. I know this for a fact...the first reply is incorrect.

Actually the first person is correct. You can view and fill out a form with only Reader but you can't save it unless you have the full version of Acrobat.

That page proved very helpfull.
Thanks baileyhp.
