I run an NT4 standalone server as our Proxy 2.0 and exchange 5.5 server.

This server can ping the outside world (As it is the Proxy). I want set up DNS properly as it does not seem to be working correctly. Will DNS server run correctly on a standalone or does it need to be on a BDC/PCD?

I have tried setting up DNS on the proxy server...when I add the server within the DNS manager...and specigy my ISP's DNS server Ip address (Which I can ping), it just never connects to it...So I have ended up setting it up with the other DNS server's IP address (The pDC) and configured forwarders pointing to the ISP DNS server>>>I'm not sure if this will do the trick...it doesn't seem to be wroking properly.

Please could someone point me towards some useful info conccerning setting up DNS on a Proxy- enabled network.

Regards,

Julian
