can poing host on internet but cannot browse internet

I have strange problem i can ping the host like

http://www.yahoo.com

but when i browse

http://www,yahoo.com,

it gives me DNS error , but if you hit refresh it comes back

can any one please help

are you using a proxy server to access the internet ?
If so, check out the DNS settings on your proxy server. That server needs to be able to resolve the host names in a timely fashion
