Can ping mydomain.com.au but not www.mydomain.com.au

Workstations can browse all internet sites except,we can't browse our own website at an external host from inside the LAN. The website is not down.

I can use DOS ftp to connect to Ping gets a reponse from the IP address but not the hostname (unknown host).

IE wont't browse to the IP address.

We just set up Server 2003 and I suspect something missing in DNS settings. I have mydomain.com.au in fwd lookup zones.
 
Pings aren't usually allowed through a firewall to hosts either. As long as ping resolves a ip address its fine if you get no replys
 
you need to see your DNS setting have you created alias "www" for mydomain.com.au
