Hello,

I am experiencing a problem where I can ping everything on the internet by either IP address or host name but can't connect using a web browser. Here is my setup

Im using a bellsouth DSL line and PPPoE

I have appox 40 users sitting behind a Cayman Router

These users are connected to the router by Linsys switches

Normally this is what happens

Users can connect to the internet fine with a browser...once about 16 or so users establish connections to the router it will no longer allow them to connect the the internet. I can still ping anything at this point. I can still resolve Host names, but I can't use a web browser to connect to the internet. My normal fix is a restart of the cayman router. This will fix the problem for about 1-2 hours depending on traffic and then the problem will resurface. Any Ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Sounds to me like the firewall is only allowing the 16 IP addresses to access the internet. Do you have to renew the addresses on the clients after the reboot of the router? Look in your firewall rules to see which addresses are allowed to pass....

Not running a firewall.

Don't have to renew IPs on clients after reboot.

Thanks.
