Can PEC cards be swapped between systems?

I have a BCM 4.0 which is having static issues. I also have a irate customer who does not wish to wait for new parts to arrive. I happen to have several older (3.0, 3.6) BCM'S. I was told that it may be possible that PEC cards are the issue. My question is "I have PEC-III cards from older switches, can I swap them into my BCM 4.0, and is there a process to doing that, or should I just replace them"?

Yes you can swap them.

Sometimes only swapping your existing PEC cards does the trick.Power down your bcm, swap the 2 pec cards and power-up, see it fixes your static problem.
