I have to administer an ACS system with the VS voice mail. The VS Mail auto attendant has a select code (3) set to send the caller to the operator (Ext10). As the operator is very busy we would like to have extns 11 and 12 as well as 10 ring when option 3 is selected. How might this be accomplished?

Also is there any way to backdoor into the VS Mail menu without resetting to factory default and having to reprogram. It's been changed from the 1234 default by some friendly previous administrator.

You could create a calling group with the extensions you want to ring. Calling groups ring all phones immediatly.

There may be another method, perhaps someone else will chime in.

Look at the FAQs for your vmail reset.

As JJDiver pointed out, creating calling group 2 under #502 with the members you need to ring, then transferring the caller to extension 72 will ring those phones.

Thanks ... that all worked like a champ.

However now I am getting about a ring and a half b4 the AA picks up. I don't think that I changes anything else in the system .. but the "girls" say it didn't do that b4. any Ideas?

Hi nsi1,
Check the ringing on those extensions, they should be "delayed". That would give a three ring delay before they ring. The attendant delay should be set to 1 or two rings before pickup. In some areas I get call display info with a 1 ring delay.

Thanks Chris,

That was the prob .... I forgot that I had changed the line ring on those phones befor I realized that all ringing was really coming from the VS Mail AA.

I think all is now well

Well, thought all was well. calling group 2 has an extention assigned to it that we can't have ring with the rest of the phones now in that group. AS I didn't set up the system originally and there seems to be no work sheets about, the other available groups seem to be used (1=all, 2=10,11,12 & 22) 3= some assigned & 4 some assigned) and i'm not sure I want to change them unless I know for sure what their current function is. Soo ... what otehr options do I have to get x 10, 11& 12 to ring out of the code selector in the VS Mail AA?

Thanks for the help in advance.

That's pretty much it, there are only 4 calling groups in a Partner. I'd ask around to see if one of those groups has been abandoned or under-utilized.

Only one other possibility: station 10 to have one other station call cover for it. The limitation is a single extension and, if unanswered, the caller will go to the covering station's mailbox. Very limited.
