Hello,

Let me explain my situation...

We have two locations, one in South side of Chicago and one in North side. We are running an Avaya Partner Phone system (must be 20 years old). We have a dedicated POTS line connecting both locations that is costing us about $1000/month. The dedicated line is solely used to support the intercom between the two locations. I'm not too familiar with teh Partner system itself, but I needto eliminate the dedicated line between the locations to save the $1000/month. Is there a solution that can support the intercom between the two locations via IP over internet? Basically, I need to convert the analog intercom to IP, send it over the internet to the remote Partner box, re-convert to analog, and back to the Partner system.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks in advance.

David

FXO and FXS cards in your VPN router would allow you to send Intercom dial tone from one Partner into a CO trunk port on the other. Send it from each system to the other, and you have a button on your phone that received internal dial tone from the opposite system, and allows you to dial extensions directly.

I'll have to look into the FXO/FXS cards as I'm not familiar. So the intercom output would plug into the FXO/FXS card on each side?

With TTT's arrangement, you will be able to access the Intercom tone of the Partner system in the opposite location. So...the Southside office can grab the Northside's Intercom tone and vice versa.
