Hi,

I have an old system and the configuration is as the following:
206EC, 400EC, Partner plus processor 4.1, and Partner mail VS 5.0. In order to get the caller ID function, I replaced the processor to Partner II R4.1. There is no problem with the phone system, however, I lost my voice mail and the light on the mail VS was off. The voice mail would be OK if I put the Partner plus processor module back.

Can anyone please tell me why?

Thanks.

Roger

Partner II R3.1 and higher support voicemail. Did you program the new processor ro recognize the voicemail? Make sure you have assigned #505 to extensions 26 and 27 with the new processor or else it won't recognize it.

Try swapping the 400 and the VS Mail - you will need to reprogram the VM ports from 26 and 27 to 20 and 21.

I have made an arrangement as the following:

1. 206EC
2. Mail VS V.5
3. Partner II 4.1 Processor
4. 406EC
5. Blank

Right now, everything looks OK except the Mail VS. The line will keep ringing for incoming call. I programmed #505 to 20 and 21.

Can anyone please tell me what can be the problem?

Thanks!

20 and 21 are correct for that configuration - does the voice mail answer when you dial Intercom 777? If so, did you assign lines to be answered in #206-7?

Yes, the voice mail answered, when I dialed Intercom 777.

I have 4 extension lines, therefore I have assigned lines #10,11,12,13 to #206 group#7.

However, the voice mail won't answer the incoming call.

Thanks!

Stop right there!

#206 is for LINES, not EXTENSIONS

So, #206-7-(10,11,12,13)-2 to Unassign

#206-7-(01,02,03,04)-1 to ASSIGN

Also, #506-(1=Immediate(2 rings) or 2=Delayed(4 Rings)) for how many rings before answer.

Then #310-(10,11,12,13)-1 to Assign Automatic VMS Cover to the extensions that have mailboxes.
