Hi All,

I've installed and was playing with Openldap and I was wondering if it could replace say a Microsoft Exchange Global Address List? or provide a mailbox address list without searching???

I know it brings up the possible names etc but I REALLY need to present a address list to my network users not just when they search... Can OpenLdap do this or what would my options be?

Thanks very much in advance, I've done searching but am not finding a alternetive or a way to do such a thing.

L8r,
Vince

Vince,

I was wondering if you could clarify a bit ... What do you mean by "provide a mailbox address list without searching"? (particularly the part about 'without searching ...') - also the part about "present a address list to my network users not just when they search" - not sure what your are wanting to do here ...

Do you simply want to give your users an alternative email address repository (other than the GAL) - or is it something more?

Yes that is exactly it a alternative to the Global Address List like Exchange or Microsoft Mail.

Right now I use Microsoft Mail for a Local mail solution and we are connected to a Microsoft Exchange Server over the Wan...

I'm implimanting a Sendmail Server at the location we are at and want to provide a Network Address List similar to MS mail or Exchange as in when the user hits new message and then TOO: it will pull up all the users in the LDAP directory. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Vince
