Does anybody here know whether you can in Director or Flash: Modify a movie clip in the projector and then save it to the computer's hard drive and load it back for later use? I believe Flash can't do this. Does anybody know whether Director has this capability. Thanks

Using .dir files that are linked to a stub projector, make a movie script that follows.

on prepareMovie
set UpdateMovieEnabled=TRUE
end

Then make the quit button play a movie called quit which first frame script reads

on exitframe
quit
end

What the UpDateMovieEnabled property set to true does is save any changes you make to a dir file, but you have to play a different movie before the changes take place. You simply can't make the changes in the dir and then quit.

Hope this helps

Thanks "archerofloaf". It's rather a unique name. It sounded like a user unfriendly process. one has to quit dir to see the new changes hhmm.... I think it will be even more complicated when this process goes down as I want to make changes to only part of the movie. Let me explain, What I am trying to do is this: First of all this is for a "Decal Maker" for skateboards where the kid can drag and drop images, logos and background onto a skateboard template for print. If he likes it he can save it for print later or design a bunch of stickies and save them just for fun, very much like a design program . Wondering whether this apparent simple process is doable in Director.
