Can Nupoint 12 (NUM-3) be Virtualized?

Mitel will not support it.
Technically, there should be no reason why it cannot be accomplished BUT...
The vmail IP ports to the 3300 are subject to delays in processing.
As the voice app is a real time app, any delays would be disasterous.
We tried vmware for a similar app (sip conferencing) and although the system "operated", the voice quality suffered the same way a bad teleworker acts.
If you try it I wish you luck but again, you'll be on your own Mitel wise...

You can't believe anything you read... unless of course it's this.

You said the magic words, "Mitel will not support it"
Thanks!!

Not supported does not mean that it does not work !

Understood, but it also gives me a basis on which to say "no" with backing from the manufacturer.

It's not only the Manufacturer consideration. I have a customer that insists on virtualizing everything. I give them the docs and say "have at it" but if they need help it needs to be reinstalled on a supported platform before I will come to site. Don't want to say much more as they might actually read this. Sorry Darrin.

Soon we will be able to put 3300 software on IBM/HP servers.
I can hardly wait until we get asked to virtualize that...NOT!
